In Tamil krrish 3, Santhanam played the role of Dr. Saasid Ali Khan. Best actor Santhanam has been acting in movies for more than four decades now and is a household name among audiences across Tamil Nadu and India as a whole. The actor had won several awards including National Award, Filmfare Award, and Dadasaheb Phalke Award. The first movie that he acted in was Kavalai Swami which released on March 8th 1970 with Goundamani as the lead protagonist of this film. He acted as a side character but had some important scenes with some famous stars like Sivaji Ganeshan, Gemini Ganesan, T.S. Balaiah and many more. He had to perform a 2 and 2/3 minute long dialogue with Sivaji Ganeshan which he performed without an audio recorder, this was one of his earliest movies where you can see how raw and energetic he is delivering the lines without any sort of delay. After Kavalai Swami, Santhanam acted in many movies such as Manthiri Kumari (1970), Prabhu Bharathiyar (1970), Mayavi (1970), Mappillai (1971) etc. Santhanam moved to Sri Lanka to act in Ravana (1972) which was a Tamil dubbed version of the 1972 Hindi film "Maharaja Karni Sena". He acted as Ravanan or Ravana in this movie which was also dubbed into Telugu later. This movie became a cult classic all over Tamil Nadu and India after it released. He returned back to India after doing the movie. Putting his work aside for some time, Santhanam went to Malaysia with friends where he acted in an English movie called Angie (1973). After the film, he came back to India without anything having been handed down to him. He remained in this state of limbo for a long time which he had great difficulty in going back to his director re-cast him in a role or even cast him with any other actor for 5 years. It was only in the year 1984, when he returned to films with a Bengali movie called "Shakta". This was a blockbuster hit and remained a cult classic ever since. He went on to act in films such as Yugandhar (1985), Thaayi Thamizhan (1988), Uthama Puthiran (1989) etc. After doing many hit movies in the late 80's, Santhanam had an extended gap of 14 years in the film industry. His break came in 2007 when he acted in a small role in a movie called "Sarvam" which was the debut movie of the director Jeethu Joseph. He had a supporting role with Mayuri Kango and Sree Raam this time. In 2014, after a long gap from films, Santhanam got a supporting role with superstar Rajinikanth for his film "Kabali". The actor was seen playing a doorman who helps Rajinikanth escape from a shootout scene. This was one of his later career-defining roles. cfa1e77820
